We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Underwriter on behalf of our client, a well-known Lloyd's and London Market insurer with a strong international reputation.
The successful candidate will support the Marine team in administering and underwriting the UK Regional Marine portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting UK Regional Underwriters in the underwriting of the UK Regional Marine portfolio.
- General administration of the UK Regional Marine account, ensuring all systems are kept up to date.
- Maintaining and developing broker and client relationships.
- Assisting Underwriters in the production of periodic underwriting reports, and any other reports as needed.
- Liaising with other Underwriting departments, as well as Actuarial, Claims, Compliance and Accounting.
- Liaising with other branches regarding common underwriting issues.
Key Requirements
- Marine / Cargo / Specialty Lines underwriting experience is desirable but not essential.
- Strong administration skills and attention to detail are key for the role.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical thinking skills.
