Claims Adjuster - Professional Indemnity - London

Role Summary

We are currently searching for a Claims Adjuster - Professional Indemnity, on behalf for a highly regarded Lloyd’s / London Market insurer.

The successful candidate will investigate and maintain claims within Professional Indemnity, working within authority on assignments of moderate, technical complexity. 

Key Responsibilities

• Interpreting policy coverages and determining if coverages apply to claims submitted, escalating issues as needed.
• Setting activities, reserves and authorising payment within scope of authority, settling claims in most cost effective and timely manner.
• Participating in performing investigations and evaluating claims through contact with insureds, claimants, witnesses and experts.
• Identifying and escalating serious claim developments to management efficiently and effectively.
• Partnering with legal counsel, account representatives, brokers, underwriters and insureds to develop a focused strategy for timely and cost effective resolution of claims.
• Developing and maintaining strong broker relationships.
• Participating in planning strategy and negotiating within scope of authority.

Key Requirements 

• Prior experience of managing Professional Indemnity Claims.
• Knowledge of claims and insurance industry theory and practices.
• Developing technical expertise, product specific knowledge and negotiation skills.
• Ability to negotiate and settle claims effectively.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with good time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
