Role Summary
Working for a highly regarded Insurer, the Global Head of Cyber Claims will be responsible for leading and developing the cyber claims team, overseeing the global cyber claims portfolio, and driving strategic initiatives within a rapidly evolving claims environment. This role demands a skilled cyber specialist with deep expertise in cyber claims, capable of managing complex, high-profile cases and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering the claims strategy, focusing on effective claims handling within London, which serves as the engine house of the claims strategy.
- Setting standards and ensuring trend analysis across all regions writing cyber business, managing the global cyber claims portfolio.
- Taking referrals from the team and devising strategies for the most intricate and high-profile claims.
- Responsible for upward and outward reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including underwriters, reserving actuaries, and the claims leadership team.
- Oversight of delegated portfolios and service standards.
- Leading and developing direct reports within the cyber claims team and contributing to broader claims strategy and initiatives, including those involving AI and significant investments in claims improvement.
Key Requirements
- Skilled cyber specialist with deep expertise in cyber claims, evidenced by significant exposure and depth of experience, rather than just limited or incidental involvement.
- Demonstrated people management experience beyond supervising is essential, coupled with the ability to make strategic decisions.
- An understanding of the insurance company environment and systems is required, although this can be trainable for candidates from a legal or other background.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with underwriters and other internal and external stakeholders is crucial.
- A genuine interest in and dedication to cyber claims, with a desire to focus on this area, is highly valued.
- Candidates should typically be stepping up from a Claims Manager role or similar in an adjusting, legal or commercial role / industry with several years of management / leadership experience, or for those from a legal background, be at a Senior Associate or Legal Director level.
- Strong leadership qualities and experience in managing people beyond entry-level supervision are paramount.
