Senior Claims Adjuster - Natural Resources - Manchester

Role Summary

Working for a highly regarded Lloyd’s / London Market insurer, the Senior Claims Adjuster will focus on Natural Resources claims which will include Energy, Mining, Power and some Property claims.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of complex claims within Energy, Power and Mining.
• Partnering with Solicitors, Customers, Brokers, Experts and Insureds to develop a focused strategy for timely and cost effective resolution of complex claims.
• Proactively managing claims, setting appropriate reserves in line with reserving philosophy, and authorising payments within scope of authority.
• Ensuring large and significant claims are identified at an early stage.
• Identifying claims with third party recovery potential and coordinating with subrogation / salvage unit.
• Preparing and presenting reports for management.

Key Requirements

• Significant proven claims handling experience, preferably with a focus on Energy, Power and Mining.
• Ability to handle claims with a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectives.
• Good understanding of policy language and application of law to policy language and adjusting.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills enabling viable alternative solutions.
• Ability to assess the merits of claims as well as evaluating claims based on a cost benefit analysis.
• Understanding of underwriting risk, disciplines and processes
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
