We are currently recruiting for a Senior Operations Analyst on behalf of our client, a highly regarded and expanding Lloyd's Syndicate.
Reporting into the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing routine and ad-hoc investigation and interrogation of Underwriting, Claims, Reinsurance and related performance data, monitoring compliance by the Syndicate with key financial metrics and other Underwriting and Claims requirements, including assisting with ensuring strong data quality controls and audit trails.
The role will also involve working closely with other resources within the organisation in London, Bermuda and US as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Operations Manager, Claims Manager and Active Underwriters with Analytical, Underwriting, Claims and Reinsurance performance monitoring requirements and ad-hoc requests, and the production of internal committee and working group reports.
- Assisting in the monitoring and analysis of underwriting performance against plan, and assisting with the investigation of reasons for deviations (including routine and investigative analysis of premiums, rate change, loss ratios, acquisition costs, etc).
- Monitoring performance against agreed line size, licensed territories and other terms provided for within binder / legal agreements.
- Assisting with the maintenance, analysis and reporting of bordereaux and management thereof.
- Ensuring reporting performance of Coverholders vs all contractual limits and requirements as per the binder.
- Maintenance of detailed central reinsurance contract database, reviewing slips and setting up contracts within the database.
- Monitoring the accuracy and completeness of all reinsurance documentation and agreements.
- Assisting in the coordination and checking of LORS signings and premium messaging, and the review of claims systems and data.
- Producing claims management information and operations process documentation.
- Assisting with adherence to "key underwriting controls" and escalation of non / under performance.
- Ensuring adherence to operational monthly and quarterly controls.
- Assisting with production and review of key Lloyd’s Returns, including PMD, SRS, ASR, TRIA, GAREAT.
- Assisting in the co-ordination of internal and external audits from an Operations perspective.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in the Lloyd's Insurance Market within an Operations or DA Analyst role.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced skills in data manipulation and analysis.
- Proven ability to quickly grasp and understand more technical tools and languages, such as Power Query, SQL and Python, for data querying, analysis and automation.
