Role Summary
Managing highly complex Property and Energy Claims, working within specific limits of broad authority on assignments requiring a high degree of technical complexity and coordination, whilst also being recognised as a technical expert in this field.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of high value and high complexity Property and Energy Claims, with a particular focus on Property.
- Working closely with senior management to promote the company’s claims brand in the Property, Energy & Power markets.
- Assisting the Claims Manager with team training, as well as mentoring and providing guidance to less experienced claims staff.
- Negotiating highly complex settlement packages, and authorising payment within scope of authority.
- Advising the wider business on anticipated claims trends.
- Contributing to business planning, with the ability to articulate and support the Underwriting strategy.
- Actively participating in wider claims strategic initiatives.
Key Requirements
- Candidates must have strong Property Claims handling experience. Additional experience of handling Energy Claims is preferred, but not essential.
- Good understanding of policy language and application of law to policy language and adjusting.
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects.
- Ability to assess the merits of claims and evaluate them based on a cost benefit analysis.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact with business partners at all levels, both internally and externally.
